Iran’s Army threatens the Revolutionary Guard
According to several Iranian online newspapers a group of Iran’s Air Force and Ground Force officers have issued a statement in which they warn the Revolutionary Guard not to interfere in politics and not to abuse the people of Iran. (click here to read the original statment in Farsi)
In the statement the officers write that during the last couple of years the Army have been preoccupied with defending Iran and its peoples honour and livelihoods and that the weapons of the Army and the Revolutionary Guard should only be used to defend and make sacrifices for the people.
Furthermore the officers write that the Army stands by the nation and that the Army have never bowed down for the demands of politicians to crack down on the people and that the Army is committed to not interfering in politics. But the Army officers add that they cannot stand by and do say nothing when they witness abuse and violence against the citizens of Iran.
Moreover the officers add that a group have taken control over the Revolutionary Guard and this group abuses the people and their livelihoods, and that if this abuse doesn’t end the Revolutionary Guard will have to face the Army.
