Kurdish film director leaves Kurdistan after pressure from the regime
The Kurdish film director Shepol Eibni Abassi has been forced to seek refuge outside of Iranian Kurdistan after that Iran’s Intelligence Service “Itlaat” threatened him.
Abassi is accused of providing Kurdish satellite channels with films and technical assistance. Itlaat has harassed him for some time now and they have also threatened to kill Abassi.
Abassi is best known for filming a documentary about the Kurdistan Republic, which was forbidden in Iran.
