Itlaat attempts to force Kurd’s to join the Basij
According to reports from the Kurdish city of Urmye Iran’s Intelligence Service “Itlaat” are attempting to force Kurd’s to join the Basij. The Itlaat are especially targeting individuals that have been Kurdish Peshmergas before, who have returned to Iran to live ordinary lives, and the family members of active Peshmergas.
Itlaat agents have attempted to force Kurd’s to join the Basij by threatening them with prison and torture. They have also attempted to force family members of active Peshmergas to give them information about the Peshmergas and to ask the members of their family that are active Peshmergas for photos and other documents of their fellow Peshmerags.
