Ahmadinejad’s speech angers western diplomats

Iran´s president, who has in the past claimed that the Nazi Holocaust didn’t occur, denounced Israel at a United Nations conference on racism as a “totally racist government” founded “on the pretext of Jewish sufferings.”

Several countries diplomats walked out of the meeting when Ahmadinejad was in the midst of his rampage.

Despite Ahmadinejad´s denying that the Holocaust occurred, the UN-conference managed to agree on a final document that states that “the Holocaust must never be forgotten.” Furthermore the Iranian delegation accepted a paragraph in the final document which states that “any denial of the Holocaust must be condemned without reservation.”
